Celebrating 60 Years of Impact: Nigerian Red Cross Society, Lagos State, Nigeria.
In December 2024, I had the distinct honour of attending the 60th anniversary of the Nigerian Red Cross Society, Lagos State Branch. This occasion was a profound testament to six decades of dedicated service to vulnerable children, providing them with care, stability, and opportunities for the future.
Since its establishment, the Nigerian Red Cross Society, Lagos State Branch, has supported thousands of children, offering not only shelter but also access to education, healthcare, and social integration. Over the years, many former residents have gone on to excel in various fields. The event also underscored the importance of broader efforts to empower vulnerable children affected by trafficking.
Progressive Dialogue International remains committed to supporting the Nigerian Red Cross by contributing to comprehensive rehabilitation, education, and advocacy efforts, ensuring that affected children have the resources to rebuild their lives and access meaningful opportunities. The event, which was partially sponsored by Tobi’s Touch Foundation, brought together key stakeholders dedicated to advancing the welfare of at-risk children
The celebration concluded with performances by children currently residing at the home, highlighting their resilience and potential. As the organisation moves forward, this milestone serves as a reminder of the ongoing need for collaboration and sustained efforts to support at-risk children, ensuring that they receive the care and opportunities necessary to thrive.
